How to Cook the Perfect Burger (Pan)

Perfect beef or bison burger cooked in a pan using the Eat Shed Glow® method

Serves: 1–2 · Prep: 5 min · Cook: 6–8 min

Storage: Best enjoyed fresh.

How to Make It

  1. Gently form 1 lb ground meat* into patties. Do not overpack or press too tightly.

  2. Season both sides with sea salt and black pepper.

  3. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add about 1 Tbsp avocado oil, olive oil, butter, or ghee.

  4. Add patties to the pan and cook 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness.

  5. Remove from heat and let rest 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Avoid pressing the burger while cooking. This keeps it juicy.

Cheese can be added during the last minute of cooking if desired.

*This method works well with 90% lean ground beef (ideally grass-fed) or bison. It also works for ground turkey or chicken burgers, which may need an extra minute of cooking to ensure they are fully cooked through.
