Notes
Ripe avocados are key. They should yield to gentle pressure but not feel mushy. To ripen faster, place in a paper bag with a banana. Skip store-bought guac, which often contains fillers and preservatives. Fresh takes 5 minutes and tastes infinitely better.
*For traditional guacamole: fold in ¼ cup diced red onion, 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, 1 small jalapeño (minced, seeds removed), a pinch of cumin, or ¼ cup diced tomato.
